Not to get off the topic (but I will).

Why does my WRT54G get a 66. address, while the RTP300 gets a 24. address?

I have my WRT54G in front of the RTP300. But if I switch them around, the IP changes. This is consistently repeatable.

Also, I've had problems with Comcast dropping the outgoing voice once in a while. Strange issue, but we'll call relatives about 4 towns away, and have the outgoing voice drop, but call India for an hour, and have it be perfectly fine.

Well I had a Vonage customer on the line one day. When she pluged in her Vtech phone comcast gave her some 67.x.x.x IP that would just loop between two servers until the TTL expired.

Plug in her PC and she gets a 24.4.x.x IP that works perfectly.

I got her Vtech phone to get thr 24.4 IP by doing some trickery. The fun part is I was loged into her device and I had her reboot it and it went right back to the 67.x.x.x "bad" IP. Except I was still logged into her device with the 24.4.x.x IP and was able to browse in her device's configuration pages. However she had no dial tone and could not get on the internet. Making our device look like it's broken.

Take that as you will about Comcast's relationship with Vonage.

When I contact Comcast Tech Support they ignore me or point their finger at Vonage, vice versa when I call Vonage. They both blow..

Welcome to the wonderful world of multi-vendor environments.

All I can say is, be persistent. You may need to do a lot of troubleshooting yourself to come up with evidence to point to one vendor or the other. The "inter-vendor relationship" issue is one reason why I hesitated to switch to Vonage.

I have also experienced the problem of the caller not being able to hear me on an outgoing call. It happened twice this morning, in fact. It's pretty much an anomaly that I won't worry about to much unless it gets worse. Then again, I'll put up with quite a bit to not have to pay another Qwest bill, again.

847 area codes area having choppy audio, probably some others in the midwest. We are getting a lot of calls from Comcast customers. They are having choppy audio,as well the mysterious inabillity to open Vonage.com and speedtest.vonage.com

PS I was just informed that the service message was just pulled down from Comcast's site.

I'm in 847 and caller can only hear choppy audio. I've reset all local equipment and no improvments. I'm getting poor download speeds, so all evidance is Comcast screwing me again. I couldn't get to Vonage.com all morning, but now it's fine. This is happening to too many people for it not to be carrier related.

I just got back into my web account to find:

Comcast customers in the Midwest(Illinois and Michigan region) may be experiencing issues with choppy audio and internet access due to Comcast maintenance in your area. If you are a Comcast customer experiencing an internet service interruption, please contact your local Comcast service center or call 1-800-COMCAST.

but now it says everything is cool, up ntil about 20 minutes ago it used to say:

Comcast Engineers will be performing network maintenance in your area. This may temporarily affect your Internet connection. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This outage was logged at : 2/9/2006 4:19:00 PM EDT.)

those wacky cable guys.
