Dear group,
After the phone rings the correct amount of time (that I have setup in my voicemail features), there is occasionally a long pause between the last ring and when the voicemail kicks in. This sometimes lasts up to 45 seconds. At this point, anyone calling feels that there is a phone issue and hangs up, only to call back and experience the same thing. This problem comes and goes and I know that it isnt anything wrong on my end. For example, this morning things were great, it would immediately go into voicemail and then as of 1 hour ago, the problem exists.
This happened over and over again for weeks during last summer. This was apparently due to all the traffic that was being used by vonage sending out 911 voicemails. I remember that support was very frustrating, I had to place multiple calls over the course of 2-3 weeks to get it resolved, and they had no clue what was wrong most of the time. I dont want to go back through this, but its times like this that I wish I would have not taken a porprietary phone number as now I am locked into vonage unless I want to change my number.
If anyone has any suggestions about this, I would be very grateful if you let me know. Thanks!

Never experienced that problem myself, but I don't have calls going to voicemail very often.
One idea... you could always just get a regular answering machine and go back to that. Given how tough it is to find a phone without an answering machine any more, I actually have *2* answering machines hooked up to my Vonage line (both part of cordless bases, both turned off).
Yes, I know it's not a sexy solution, and when they work the features of Vonage voicemail are very cool, but if you're missing calls... |

Thanks for the reply. I did purchase one back last summer, and just my luck, the problem was fixed a few days later. I will use this as a last resort, but I hope that they fix it. As of right now, its working fine, but earlier I lost a call from it.
