I originally had a PAP2, but I returned it... The voice echo thing was just too annoying.
I got a RTP300 (echo cancellation) off of ebay from a guy in BC and Vonage Canada said I couldn't use it because it was bound to another deactivated account.
I could probably get the previous owner to vouch for me, but in reading some of the other comments here (particularly those folks who bought from LD, Source), it might not matter how many times I talk to them...
So what should I do now? I'm considering canceling Vonage... maybe try it again in a year...
Suggestions? |

Before you buy anything used, that has a "registerable serial number" of sorts, always call the company BEFORE you buy it and make sure it is not on a blacklist. For example, digital cable boxes, cell phones, voip adapters. I think the companies would be more than happy to tell you if there is an issue with registering it for yourself.
Just go buy a new one and save the headache. I bought mine brand new last summer and was up and running in 5 minutes. Saving a few bucks sometimes just isn't worth the aggravation. (Imho). |

If I buy a Telus Mobility cell phone from another Telus Mobility subscriber, why would I have to call Telus to ask if it would work? I just flip in the new sim card and I'm off to the races... What about checking with your ISP before you buy a new network card? Should you check that too?
I talked to Vonage... The unit is not blacklisted. They just don't feel like switching it on. |
