I know this is a stupid question, and I know I could use electrical tape, but....those blue lights are so bright it drives me craaaazy!! Electrical tape blacks them out too much...anybody have any other brilliant ideas so I can get some sleep at night??
Thanks in advance... |

I knew someone else had this problem too!
I have been putting a pair of dark socks over the lights, but I thought if anybody had any better ideas than socks or a dvd case... |

Try this:
1) Get a small piece of electrical tape (Enough to fit over the light you want to block) and cut a hole in it smaller than the light itself so it still can shine through, but not as brightly as it was. That might cut down on the shining, and still allow you to see it for troubleshooting purposes. |

I cut a strip of paper to length, folded it in half to double the thickness, creased it to a 90 degree angle to fit on the end of the router, and taped it over the lights. Now, the paper "glows" with light instead of those hideous bright LEDs.
Why they made the design decision to go with such hideously bright lights is beyond me. But whatever. |

Who knew that the forum members were such resourceful types!
Mine is actually in the room across my bedroom, so I use it to see if my daughter is sneaking out of her bed... |

LOL You guys/gals are hysterical...thanks for a laugh and the innovative ideas. I was kind of hoping there was a setting somewhere to dim the lights, but apparently no such luck! I guess I will try one of the suggestions... THANKS! |

Well there's no setting, since I sincerely doubt the router comes with variable power settings to send to the lights, and in the exceptionally unlikely event it does, I doubt you'd ever get access to it...
...but you can "set" the router somewhere the light doesn't matter as much, "set" something on top of it, or "set"-tle for it the way it is. There's three "set"-tings for you.
Need a nightlight somewhere? (grin) |

You know it's funny you say that. I do need a nightlight right where it's sitting, but it's too bright for that. The thing sits right next to the bassinet of my daughter, and it keeps both of us awake at night. My wife, however doesn't seem to notice.
and you 'set' jokes were awful, btw. |
