Hello, Tarun. First, you should reply to my message by hitting the reply button at the bottom of the page, not by starting a new thread. That way everyone can see the messages together and know what's going on.
Your internet speed sounds way too high. Please check it again.
It sounds as if the RTP300 isn't hooked up properly, or isn't connecting through the modem. First check and be sure that you have a cable from the modem to the port on the RTP300 labelled internet. A second cord should run from one of the four ports on the RTP300 labelled ethernet to your computer ethernet port. Apply power to the modem first, wait 30 seconds, then apply power to the RTP300.
If that doesn't get you internet service, then you may need a special setup to make the router work with your DSL service. Does the service require a password or a static IP? Can you now see the router page with your computer? The best way to get all this set up may be to call your ISP and ask for help. If that's not an option, then get back to us with answers to my questions and we'll go on from there.

There are several issues at work in your situation.
1. There are a lot of people having issues in India because of the ISP there.
2. In your case, I think you have a setup problem. So let's see if the following instruction can help you.
I am assuming that you have the following setup:
DSL -> Modem -> RTP300 -> PC.
I am assuming that your Modem is simply that, not a Modem/Router
combination.
Correct?
The reason why things get complicated with DSL is because there must be a point at which your network logs into the system using PPoE. In your case, before you got the RTP300, you probably had the following setup:
DSL -> Modem -> PC.
Is this correct? If so, put your configuration into this mode and see if your PC can connect to the internet without any problems.
If your PC can connect to the internet without any problems, then your PC is acting as the login point to the DSL service assuming that you don't have a modem/router combination.
By inserting the RTP300 between the Modem and the PC, you need to now program the RTP300 to act as the login point to the DSL service. Try the following:
1. Connect the PC to one of the ports in the RTP300. Make sure that the RTP300 is power on but not connected to the modem yet.
2. In your PC, type in 192.168.15.1 in your Internet Explorer. Make sure to select PPoE in your setup.
Enable PPPoE:
3. Select PPPoE from the connection type drop down menu.
Contact your DSL provider for this information. If you have a DSL modem and are NOT using a router in front of the Phone Adapter, select Enable PPPoE and type the Service Name, User Name, and Password provided by your DSL provider.
4. You might have to clone your MAC address in your RTP300 to your computer MAC address.
Save your settings.
5. Now turn off your entire system.
6. Wait 5 minutes. Then first turn on your modem and wait until all its lights are on.
7. Then connect the modem through the ethernet wire to the WAN or "Internet" port of the RTP300 and then turn the RTP300 on. Wait until all the lights are on. Is the phone 1 light on? If so, then try a test call by connecting a phone to the Phone 1 in the back.
If everything works, then your last step is to connect from port 1 of your RTP300 to your computer using an ethernet cable. Then you want to turn on the PC and it should let you access the internet for you.
You might have to uninstall the software from your ISP on your PC if your
Vonage
phone service is working.
Also, it is possible that your ISP is intentionally blocking the
Vonage
ports.
I hope this helps, mundy5.

Post subject: The RTP300 works fine with VSNL but not with BSNL
Dear Friends,
I am too having the same problem with RTP300 router with BSNL broadband connection. I was told by one of my friend that in this case you either need to change your ADSL modem IP settings or RTP300 router IP settings. And also the other PPPoE settings.
The BSNL people do not take interest while TATA VSNL broadband people are masters. they just configured the whole thing in minutes while I was waiting for help from BSNL for weeks.
I think there is some problem between network
The RTP300 IP Address is: 192.168.15.1
While they configure BSNL ADSL to provide IP address 192.168.0.2 to 255.
And also requires authentication. So If you provide authentication in PPPoE but do not change the RTP300 IP address then it does not go to ADSL router network.
So the best way is to change the IP settings of ADSL rother the outgoing IP range to 192.168.15.2 to 255.
I hope above should work, though I hae not tried. because I just threw away the BSNL modem. I am more than happy with TATA VSNL BROADBAND CONNECTION
