Post subject: Busy signal on inbound calls during port
I am so frustrated right now with what is happening. And what is worse, no one seems to give a good explanation of what is happening, so I'm asking for help or clarity here.
I signed up for
Vonage
on 12/28. I got my letter for doing the transfer on 1/1/05.
Last night, everything was working fine on the old phone company line. But this morning, all of a sudden, the phone company line will not accept incoming calls. It does have a dial tone and makes outgoing calls with no problem. People who have
Vonage
can of course make calls to our
Vonage
without a problem.
So I called
Vonage
who said the line was owned by CT Communciations (CTC) and that it was their problem. I called CTC who said that they ported the number so it is Vonage's problem. I called back to
Vonage
who said that they have not received any documentation and that the phone line is owned by CTC. I called CTC again and told them the numbers database said CTC owned it. After that they said that the number porting began today and that there would be incoming service interruption (which I was not told about). They also said that they send an FOC letter to
Vonage
on 1/4 and that
Vonage
responded with a PON number right after.
Now CTC says the port will be complete tomorrow and
Vonage
now says that it is an incomplete port.
I am so frustrated. What's worse is my wife works from home and discovered this out the hard way...Thank God for cell phones!
Has this happened to anyone? Isn't this a bit wrong?
Thanks for the help in advance.
