Hi,
Does Vonage have any equipment with voicemail indicator, like for example cell phones that indicate voice mail is waiting?
I asked the Vonage person on the phone and they said there's no such thing, you always have to call into the voicemail system. I just think that's quite backwards, I have to be using my phone and dialing into a system just to find out if there are messages.

On the RTP300 the phone light blinks slowly if there's a voicemail. You also get a stutter in the dial tone when you pick up a receiver if there's voicemail waiting. I think I've read on here about people with phone systems that have a flashing light when there's voicemail. |

besides the blinking light on the rtp300 and wrtp54g, this is a phone feature. vonage supports it but you need a phone that has it. |

That's bad info from the rep. The Vtech wireless phones I have not only have a flashing light on the base unit, each phone also blinks "Message Waiting" on the display. And it's within a few seconds of the message being left. Very nice. |

My cell phone receives an email when someone leaves a voice mail on my vonage account.
Also my uniden home phones have blinking red lights when I have a vonage voice mail.

Thanks for the tips, folks.
So, what phone units are you using that working voice mail indicators? You mentioned Uniden, which model #?
And someone mentioned the Vtech also has working red light for voice mail, is that the setup that comes with the Voip built-in? Are there other model #s that have a voice mail red light which works with vonage?
On a side note, I have read a lot of complaints on the forum about voice mail problems. How many of you are experiencing frequent problems, either with voicemail, or regular usage of the service?
Thanks

Great. These units look really nice. How is their sound/voice quality? The speakerphone, is it also good quality?
Thanks

I don't get a lot of Vonage voice mails because I have an answering machine that picks up, typically it happens when my wife doesn't respond to call waiting.
I have not had a problem with email delivery of these messages. I do occasionally have problems with the levels of the messages as they can be difficult to hear both online or when attached to the email. |
