You did go to the FWD "Extra Features" page on my.FWD tab and enable permnant forwarding to sip:18135551212@sip123.ath.cx:5061 where of course you would change the number and address right? |

Yes I did. I've been trying different port numbers now.
Here's the main of what I did so far: I made my RTP300 phone adapter in my DMZ of my netgear router and tried the following:
(phone and address being mine...not these. If you want to try to call me message me and i'll send you my info) sip:12155551212@myaddress.com:5060 then tried sip:12155551212@myaddress.com:5061
Then I though..well maybe it just needed to be directly connected to the phone adapter. So I rewired my network to have the phone adapter first...tried the same as above and still nothing ringing on my side. I did watch the activity light and it flickered a little when the call was suppost to be coming through...so it seems like something is happening.
I was able to use X-lite and make a call to my dad who I set up with FDW today.
Right now I'm trying more ports....if anyone has a suggestion let me know. As mentioned above, if you'd like to try my actual numbers to see if it works, message me directly. thanks. |

You can use X-Lite to test your ports too. You can try different ports by dialing 18135551212@sip5555.ath.cx:5061 and keep changing the port number to see if your phone rings. |

Wouldn't there be a : after the sip? Like this:
18135551212@sip:5555.ath.cx:5061
I'll keep messing with it this week. No hurry on it. Thanks for all your help. |

You dont need the sip: with the dialer. BTW the sip: goes like this sip:18135551212@sip5555.ath.cx:5061
Also I have read that you can call FWD users from your Vonage telephone. I am going to mess with this today. Tried it yestarday and it didnt work but maybe I was doing it wrong. Of course if that does not work you can call for instance 973-494-5586 and enter option 2 and then enter the FWD number and it will call them. |

Yeah thats what I did with my dad last night. I got him set up on FWD cause he travels a lot. While trying to test it I called a philly number and put in his FWD and it got to him ok.
So far my progress today as been like this: I checked what ports could be affecting it, and I went through my mac's firewall port settings to see what it uses. Turns out port 123 is used to configure the network time. So I told my router to route port 123 to my linksys only.
Also found out that if I try to port 10,000 to 20,000 on my netgear router to the linksys adapter - I cant make calls. So I took that range off and left everything else routing to the linksys router for now.
Will keep messing with it. |

Doing some more research seems the SIP port 5061 is listed for older adapters. Didn't mention what or if a SIP port exists for new adapters. |
