Every now and then I can hear a loud echo of my voice.. It's very disturbing. The party on the other end can't hear it. What's causing this feedback?? Many thanks. Pap 2 adapter. |

Could it be your phone? I remember having this problem with a regular old land line and it was the phone, not the line. |

I find this happens at times too, often when I am calling someone's cell phone. Sometimes the person I'm calling has the volume up so loud on their phone that I'm actually hearing my own voice coming out of their earpiece and then being picked up on their handset's microphone.
One time I had a cell phone that I had to have turned up pretty loud to hear when I was in my car... And I would often get complaints from other people that they heard an echo. When I turned the volume down on my cell phone, they said the echo went away.
Next time it happens, ask if the person on the other end can turn the volume down a bit on their phone, and see if that helps.
This may not be the explanation in your case, but I have found it to be true in my case much of the time. |

Actually, I've noticed a lot of echo lately with the .58 firmware. It's been very bad this past week. Anyone else experiencing this? |

I just joined Vonage a couple of days ago and have been testing the sound quality. I have experienced an echo on some calls. The person on the other end doesn't hear it just me and the echo is of my own voice. I was wondering if this is a common problem with Vonage. |

I haven't had any issues in my area (SE FL) but I did when we first signed up 2 months ago and it was my firmware being out of date. |

How do I check to see if my firmware is out of date? |
