I don't know what you mean with auto fallback, but my fax machine works great for sending and receiving faxes on Vonage. I also use comcast as my cable provider. |

My fax starts at 14.4 and if it can't connect it drops to 11k then 9600 and then 4800 ......

Your faxing should be fine. You'll probably see more 9600Bps connections. |

Auto fall back! Nice. This is in fact the ideal fax for Voip, since it is often suggested you throttle your fax machine back to 9600 for Voip.
Personally, I use an HP all-in-one with a one-speed modem (14.4) and have not had any problems.
Regarding fall-back... I suspect that speed adjustment all occurs during the "handshake" period with other faxes... it probably can't dynamically slow itself down in the event of too much noise on the line (if only becaue the receiving fax won't know how / when to slow down after the handshake). If you do eperience drops, then I would try to have the fax BEGIN at 9600, not 14.4. |

My fax machine faxes @ 33.6 kbps. Is that too fast for Vonage? I've seen some issues that are speed-related. |

33.6 might be too fast. At that speed some minor noise introduced in the analog --> digital ---> analog conversion process may cause unwanted disconnects.
You'll have to try it out. But if your fax machine doesn't allow a lower speed setting (and I'd be surprised if it did not), then that might be an issue. |

Things seem to be the most stable @ 9600Bps. I sometimes got faxes through @ 14400Bps, but it wasn't the most stable. I've never tried anything faster, but the reliability would most likely be worse. As stated above, most fax machines will fall back to slower speeds, if necessary, during the connect cycle. |

I don't think that this fax has an option to set the fax speed. The auto fall back will be in the handshake with the other fax. Anyway I get my box today I guess I'll find out.
