4. Modem make and model
SURFboard SB4100 Cable modem
D-Link Wireless DI-624
5. Type of

adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2
LinkSys RTP300
6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->
Vonage
Adapter-->PC
Cable modem ->
Vonage
Adapter -> Wireless Router -> PC(s)
7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc
I could hear people fine, but on a lot of calls, the other party could not hear me (either very choppy or not at all). So the problem is outgoing data.
Vonage
lowered the package size to 20 kbps today, which allowed me - so far - to make calls, but the voice quality is worse than a mobile phone... I am about ready to throw in the towel.
I have six Uniden 5.8 GHz phones attached (cordless with one main phone).
8. DETAILED results from

that explains your problem, particularly why outgoing is so bad. this is kind of hard to troubleshoot, but you can start by posting your signal values from your cable modem (accessible at
http://192.168.100.1
)
if those look ok, you're probably going to have to run some pingplotter.com tests for a while to try to pinpoint the problem. I'm leaving soon so here's a link to what your cable modem values should be.
http://www.broadbandreports.com/faq/5862
and if worst comes to worst or you really want to try to solve the problem quickly, try replacing that modem with an sb5100 or see if comcast will. a lot of people have had a lot of issues resolved simply by doing that. can't guarantee it will work though, and it does usually involve a good amount of money out of pocket, so not everyone wants to go for it. just make sure you can return it if you have to buy it.

those look good. besides trying a new cable modem, you can try pingplotter.com to trace a route and (hopefully) find the cause of your packet loss.

Okay, I have NO IDEA
what this means, but I am sure you guys do.
I went out today and got another modem from ComCast (they regrettably only had an RCA model, but I figured I would try it). It really hasn't changed anything...I am so bummed out and ready to give up. Tonight, I called ComCast to activate a DVR and the lady couldn't hear me AGAIN!
(((
I don't feel technical enough to resolve this.
Here is what Pingplotter pulled up:

Speli,
Everything you're describing and going through, I myself have gone through as well. Try searching for posts from me and you'll see. I had
Vonage
techs adjust a buffer on my router to help with things and since then, it's been better, however, now and then, I will call someone and it will be like I'm studdering. Completely unintelligible! However, if they call me back, I'm fine. Clear as a bell! Would someone please explain to me how my outbound audio sounds fine on a received call but not on a dialed call???!!! It's the same outbound audio. It's the same line (Comcast internet) and same packet loss on the line. I believe it's
Vonage
's routers and/or servers, but everyone else thinks it's packet loss and latency with Comcast. Anyone?????

Well, Motorola Surfboard SB5100 is in.
I can't figure out how to secure my cable going into it!
Does anybody else have that problem? It just won't grasp the threading. Is it okay to snip the pin a hair to see if that helps?
I ran the
www.testyour
voip
.com test again, and here are the outbound results:

Sounds a little better, but not much....
Any other ideas?
