Hello again, help! when I have a voice mail message I retrieve it by using the computer, listen to it, then select it then delete it. Problem is it doesn't delete it from the phone and the stutter tone is still there with light blinking so unable to make another call. This message will only disappear if retrieving and deleting using the phone system. Any advice please and pointers on this, have just yesterday set voicemail up, Question: why when I delete message from voice mail page setup on computer doesn't it delete it from my phone. I find it easier to ask a question here than phone or email Vonage, thanks Pauline Confused

Call and record a message then call in and delete it. I have had that problem several times and the above does remove the stutter dial-tone.

You can also disable voicemail via the dashboard for a couple of minutes, power-cycle the Vonage unit, and then re-enable the voicemail setting. This has proved successful for me.

Paul C: Thank you for post, yes, I did that and it worked but why doesn't it work when I delete the message after hearing it from when I retrieve it from my computer. My husband likes to go to the computer bring up voicemail messages, play and listen to them over media player, the sound is great and he can write numbers down sitting at his desk, etc etc. That is what I am trying to figure out, when selected and deleted it should not only take the message off computer(which it does) but delete it from the phone system(which is doesn't), therefore, no blinking light and no stutter/beep,beep,beep tone. Admittedly I haven't tried to place another call while the beep,beep is still there, I was under the impression that you had to clear the messages before you could use the phone again, just learning all this new technology. You don't have to clear messages before you can make another call. It is just annoying to have to wait for the tone to end and then dial.

Kuka, thanks for info, but I do listen to them and clear them and wait 10 minutes or more before I dial another number, but the beep beep beep/stutter tone is still there after sometimes 30 minutes. My understand was when you delete it from your voice mail page on computer once you have listened to it it should automatically clear your phone line of the beep beep beep sound when you pick up to dial again and the blinking light should disappear, OH well I am learning fast with all the advice I am receiving. Love Vonage, now onto the next task to tackle and that is taking my adapter to Puerto Vallarta and connecting to broadband high speed internet in our Condo, as they say 'Travel with Vonage' wish me luck. Good Luck in Vallarta Pauline. I've heard in the forum that Mexican ISPs port block to prevent the use of third party Voip services like Vonage. Please let us know how it works out for you.

Hi, are you saying that maybe our high speed connection service in our unit is on DSL and wont accept our Vonage adapter. We have heard it will not work adapter to jack but will if you go through your laptop. Oh I am worried now and confused. There is a fellow who posts on www.tug2.net a timeshare chat site called TUG. He said he takes his with him and they live in Arizona and have a condo in Punta Mita, outside of Puerto Vallarta and says it works well. So that is where I got it the idea from to take ours with us. I will have to phone resort to see if it is DSL OR CABLE. Any information re this topic would be very helpful. Thanks Pauline

Sorry about that Pauline. I was only saying that I had read in the forum in the past that some Mexican ISPs were port blocking. I don't know if this is still the case but it sounds like you have done your homework on this. I'm sure that the forum members will be interested to hear your experience. Perhaps the fellow that you spoke to knows more and maybe his place is using the same ISP as your place. It won't hurt to try it out in any case. Viva Vallarta! Cool

The stutter dialtone is not a port blocking issue. It is a flag that the Vonage Voice Mail sends when an account (your voice mail number) has unread voice-mail. This is the same as you would hear from the wireline provider. However - it should disappear when all messages have been listened to or deleted.

Sounds like a bug

Speaking of bugs - Vonage still have not got my email notification working that has been down for weeks. Customer Service **** bug time.
