Last Week I added a new fax line to my Phone. Initially I got the dial tone and when I tried to Fax all I got was a Busy Tone.

After that I do not get a dial tone nor I see the second phone line light blinking in my adaptor. Please help how I can resolve this issue.

I assume that you're using an adapter with two phone lines. Is this correct? Which one? Is the first line still working OK? What is your equipment lineup?

Try unplugging everything from the fax line port. Re-cycle your system (power off, power up in the correct order). If this gets a phone light on both lines, then plug a phone into the fax port and see if you can call out. If you don't get a light or can't call out, it's probably past time for a call to Vonage customer support.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I use Linksys adaptor and my phone line is working fine. I have a cable modem to Linksys router and then to linksys phone adaptor. I have tried rebooting all the system few time. It did not work and tried to call Vonage, after 65 min of waiting the line got disconnected.

Please let me know if you have other suggestion. I will try and reboot the system one more time to see it is working.

Just to confirm, both Vonage lines- voice and fax- are on the same adapter. Is this correct? Before recycling, did you unplug everything from the phone port servicing the fax line as I suggested? And you still don't have a phone light for the fax port?

If the answer to all questions is yes, the fact that the voice line is working pretty much eliminates your system setup as the culprit. The adapter could be bad, or it could be a problem with the Vonage system. Either way, I'm afraid you're going to have to stick it out and get through to customer support.
