Hello, I have been trying to get info about this from vonage, but the phones were taking for ever to be awnsered. I have a vonage router from when I signed up, but it isnt very good. Only has 3 ethernet ports, and I have to keep my phone in my computer room. I would like to add more phones without having to run wire through the house. I saw on the vonage homepage the new vtech phones with the small vonage box, and was thinking about getting that as it said no router is needed. I was thinking I could use that and then use my router I had before wich was a great microsoft one with wireless, and then plug the vtech into that one.
So my question is , will this work with my service. Would I be able to buy this phone set, and hook up my old router plug the vtech phones into my router and be set with my service and phone number, or am I locked into my current vonage router? Or can I change it to this vtech set up easily?
Here is the set up I am talking about

That'll work. If you buy one, you can either call in to register the MAC, or go to the retail activation link on http://www.vonage.com and select the radial for "I am an existing Vonage Customer". |

Well, you could just plug your existing Vonage box into the MS router, then use a cordless phone. |

I'm using the new VTech adapter/phone combination and it's great. I had some initial problems setting it up out of the box, but customer service was helpful in troubleshooting. They flashed the device with an upgrade and voila! Been green ever since then. I do not use a router, though. I only have the one computer at home. |

I tried that, but plugging in the vonage router into my older router woulnt work, I could never get the phone to work. Also I liked the new vtech phones since they gave you two bases, If I just got another wireless phone, I would still have to keep the base in the room with my vonage router, I would like to have a phone with a base in my bedroom as well. |
