Hi, just thought I'd let you all know that the DSL filter DOES work on our RCA 25403 Exec Series phones. We weren’t able to use our phones Intercom when connected to Vonage, but I just so happened that I had a couple of DSL Microfilters laying around. I plugged it into LINE 1 and 'BANG' there is was - intercom works flawlessly. Thanks for posting the suggestion - it worked! |

Just disconnect the network cable from the Vonage box and test your phones intercom again. It should work fine. Disconnect just the network cable, but leave the phone lines alone. It is my oppinion that the Vonage service seems to be the issue. It may not be compatible with these uints. I'm have the same issue.
Take Care!
PS. If i find a soultion, i'll let you know. |

Thanks to the original poster for bringing up the problem and thanks to the guys who figured it out.
We have the same phones and router that was in question. Have been yelling back in forth in the office for a year now since we got Vonage and it's freakin great having the intercom back.
DSL Filter worked great for me.
Spoke with linksys, Vonage and RCA about this problem and none of them had a clue. Luckily there are people out on the net like you folks that are more inteligent and have more ingenuity than your major companies.
Thanks again. |

I hve run into a problem with my 25415RE3. I'm have only one Aactive phone line which has several phones connected to it. When one of the other phones is picked up the phone automatically switches to line 2. But of course there isn't a line 2.
Anyone have a suggestion? |

hi, i want to buy the 25415re3 with the handset.
i have cable.
i have Vonage with the linksys 2 port phone adapter.
i want to connect my main Vonage number, plus two virtual numbers.
can all of these numbers have their own phone line ...line 1, line 2, and line 3 on the 25415re3 phone?
or do I have to have 3 different main line ($24.99 each line) to be line 1, line 2 and line 3?
i want my in laws to have one line, so i know NOT to answer that line. LOL
i want line 2 to be my relatives.
i want line 3 to be my friends.
may add the fax line too...ideas for that one would be appreciated. using an iMac, with the fax modem an add-on to the iMac for $40.
please advise.

Hi BillyJoe,
Your situation is a bit different than what the original poster had.
Here are some things you need to think about.
1. A virtual number is only used for incoming calls. That is if someone calls your virtual number, it automatically forwards it to your main number. If you call out from your Vonage phone, your main number will be listed in the caller ID not your virtual number.
2. So if you want 3 separate lines for both incoming and outgoing calls, you will need to get 3 separate main numbers using 2 total adapters.
3. If you only want 1 line for outgoing, then you can go with 1 main line and 2 virtual numbers.
It sounds to me like you want to use the 2-4 line phone and have each phone number go to the appropriate line. If you want that kind of feature, you will need to get 3 separate main lines (i.e. $24.99 or 14.99 per line). If you don't use the line for more than 500 minutes/month, then it's worth getting the $14.99 service. In fact, the actual number is 784 minutes/month or something like that before you hit the same amount as $24.99.
I hope this helps. |
