Like someone said in an earlier post. The VT1005 is a router. It supposedly has some QOS so the recommendation from Vonage is to put it first then any other equipment. The QOS on the VT1005 is poor (if it even does anything at all), though.
I've been using my Linksys wireless router first, then the VT1005 off one of the lan ports on my Linksys. You should be able to do this with a netgear also. This way you don't have to use Double NAT.
The only problem with this, is if you want to change any settings in the Vt1005, you must hook a PC directly to the LAN port on the VT1005. The 192.168.102.1 web page is only accessable from the lan port and not the WAN side. |
