Hi All-
I am looking to jump on the Vonage bandwagon for my small business (new number now, will pay the $10 fee to transfer existing number after a month or so of "tryout").
As it stands now, all my business calls are forwarded to my cell, which I always carry with me.
I hear a lot of feedback about downtime, 1-3 days, and am curious if the "Network Availability Number" kicks in and still works fine, so that my cell would continue to pick up the 'slack'.
If nobody has had any problems with the Network Availability Number kicking in, then seems like a good route to go/try. But if anyone can tell me if this switchover fails, I would certainly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!

I have had no problems with switch... Then again, I never have any need for it unless I am playing with my setup!
Darn tinkering geeks |

My broadband carrier is Insightbb. Recently, the system went down for several hours (who knows why) and my Vonage calls were routed to my cell phone - just like they were supposed to be. |

Very cool.. Looks like I might just have to try it.
My cable is relatively stable (knock on wood), through Cox cable. I get 9mb down/1mb up, pretty consistently.
Thanks for the input!

It's likely that the downtime you're hearing/reading about is the web management part, not the actual phone service. The web management has been spotty for me, but phone service has been 100% so far. |

The only time mine has been used is due to the cable being out. I didn't even know it happened until my cell phone was ringing and I wondered why they were calling it. After it came back up, it started ringing my regular line like always. The only time I've needed it, it worked like it should. |

Have tested the Network Availability number twice. Once took about four minutes to set up and 2 minutes to come back,. The other was almost instantly both ways. |
