What I am experiencing is sending up red flags about Vonage's comittment and/or ability to deliver quality of service for the entire package I purchased. Certainly the package Vontage advertises represents value. However, what they advertised and what I am getting are two different animals.

Exactly. I bought in on the promise. Which, so far, hasn't been delivered. This is starting to look like an extreme case of false advertising. I would love to be proven wrong.

I think we all agree that this is an emerging technology and there will be issues. What doesn't sit well with me is the complete lack of communication on their part regarding these issues. I have search all over and have yet to see a real explanation as to a) why these issues are happening and b) what they are doing to correct it.

I can tolerate outages and such as long as I know the company is doing something about it, and I don't get that sense from Vonage whatsoever.

dmesser,

I am in the same boat, signed up for the service (since 12/21) based on what was advertised. And it appears that since that time it has been one issue or another. That was before I found out about this forum. Not too thrilled about the service at this point....

I can't believe that again today the site is down. This is becoming a frequent (and sadly enough) accepted thing. While I rarely use call forwarding ( to afraid of crap like this) it would be nice to check usage - grab a phone number I forgot to write down etc.

I have been with Vonage for almost a year and it ticks me off that I will probably be forced to switch services - the hubby is getting irrate about the service not being available even though we pay for it.

How many customers will leave because they are not getting what they paid for?

For what it's worth, I was just able to log into my Dashboard. If this is like the last few times, I expect it'll be slow and possibly intermittent. But I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I don't THINK it's a train... Wink

EDIT: Narf. Back down. And the main page is now very slow and won't load all the way, especially the "media.vonage.com" server that serves up all the Flash. I bet someone's rebooting servers in turn to get things back up and spinning again. Hopefully. Or maybe someone got mad and applied "percussive maintenance" to the wrong server.

Websites are not emerging technology. There is no reason why the "dashboard" should be down.

I hate to be the one to point out the blaringly obvious. .

but the web server for "new subscriptions" seems to be functioning perfectly and has <50ms ping times. .

Just an observation. .

Twisted Evil

Dashboard seems to be working for me now, albeit painfully slow.

At least I was able to update my address for 911 dialing, though.

True, though to be fair your personal photoblog doesn't have to pull data from a VoIP/Phone routing engine in real-time, assemble voicemail from a voicemail database, send updates in near-real-time to a million individual Voip devices AND dozens of VoIP<->POTS gateways on demand, etc etc...

Still and all - the site SHOULD be up FAR more than it has been recently. No argument there.
