Is it possible to use VTECH IP8100 a and hardwired adapter with only one phone number? I currently have the IP8100 up and running but I also want to hard wire Vonage into my house phones, can anyone tell me if this is possible. I would like continue using my IP8100 along with my home phones. Thanks in advance Scott |

I don't believe it's possible. One account/phone number will only support one adapter. If the IP8100 had a phone output jack to allow other phones to be plugged into it, it could be done. As far as I can see, the IP8100 doesn't. |

scalo,
I just read a little bit about the VTECH IP8100 and as far as I can tell, because it has the phone adapter integrated into the base unit, there is no phone wire to plug into an adapter. Hence, Steve48 is correction is that there is no way to connect your VTECH IP8100 to your house wiring.
Unless, there is some way to split the wiring from the VTECH to its adapter but I really doubt it since it is supposedly integrated into it. |

Thanks for the help and the quick responses. I have decided to return the IP8100 and go with WRTP54G from Linksys, Do you have any comments on this adapter or another that may be better. Thanks Scott |

scalo,
I'd do some searching on the regular forum on that model. I know when it first came out, it had all kinds of issues. Why not get the rtp300 from Vonage? |

Look here: http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic9265.html for comments on the WRTP54G. You might also want to search the Voip forum further, looking particularly for posts from NateHoy. |

ON the topic the answer is, NO YOU CAN'T. Vonage will tell you that you can, but after you get to level 2 support they will laugh and tell you their system can not support more than one MAC device per line on an account. So without a jack in or out of the Vtech 8100 it's screwed. I would still love to work this out but 2 weeks of very detailed work with Vonage has not resolved the issue.
I am sticking with the PAP2 and moving on to hacking the DIRECTV DVR |
