What I'd love to see is a "camp-on" feature that would watch a line that is busy, and let me know when it frees up. Several family members are in technologically challenged areas and use dialup Internet. It would be nice to be able to have Vonage tell me when their line is free instead of dialing out every now and again and listening to busy signals.
It could either ring my line with a distinctive ring and when I pick up dial the number I am monitoring (like click-2-call), or preferably just ring my line and play back a recorded announcement like "the number you are monitoring is now free" so I can make the call myself. |

Would not the feature of Repeat Dialing work..
try it: When the line rings busy, press *(Star) 5.
You should receive a "beep" and the line will go dead.
If the line becomes available within thirty (30) minutes, your line/phone will ring. |

I think it is #5 not *5...try that instead. It should ring you back when the call opens up, POTS lines have these also. |

You are correct, its # sign and not *. Also be sure to hang-up afterward. |

Well, don't I feel like a first class idiot.
I'm travelling this week and away from my adapter, but I'll give it a try next week when I'm home.

LOL yes #5 and it works great. As soon as the line is clear your line will ring and when you answer, ring them, so you don't have to dial. I use this with my sister all the time. |
