I'm looking to buy a cordless phone system. I can't seem to find any information about whether these systems will indicate if I have Vonage voicemail thru the stutter dial tone. Can anyone recommend a good system that does?

My old Siemens showed an envelope when we had vm.
When you go to the Vonage website to erase the vm the envelope picture on the phone disapeared.
Siemens 2 line Gigaset 8800
1 bad point though is that they dont make them anymore.

I have a Uniden EXI5560 cordless phone 5.8GHz that has a light at the bottom of the base. It is red all the time showing that it is in ready/charge mode, but when I have a voicemail it flashes. Very easy to see.

Circuit City appears to have the best price right now, only $29.99. See Circuit City

Before you go out and buy such a phone, you might want to take a look at this vonage-forum.com/ftopic10128.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" class="postlink">thread and make sure you're willing to live with some possible side effects of having voicemail notification as a blinking light on your phone. Then again, that issue might not even happen for you - I'm not sure how widespread the problem is.

Thanks for the advice. I did read the topics about the voicemail indicator lights not working properly. Given my luck, any technical problem that can happen probably will happen for me. However, having no visual indicator at all isn't so great, so I'll probably give one of those phones a try.

I use a panasonic 2.4 ghz cordless phone. I don't know the model unit off the top of my head but it has a lcd screen that tells you that a voice mail is waiting. it works great. never had any problems. It cost me $45 when I bought it a couple of years ago and it was one of the few phones that had a NiMH battery which is far superior than the Ni-Cd batteries used in many systems. hope this helps.

Understand that we do NOT support voicemail indicator lights. All we support is the stutter tone. Which is of course being worked at as of now and has been an issue.

MOST BUT not ALL phones can recognize the Stutter tone of the router. If it doesn't there is nothing we can do. Most newer phones do now.

Trinijoy,

Defensive much? That's a hell of an attitude about customer support. Nobody in this topic said anything negative about Vonage, except to bring up a known bug related to my question.

The stutter tone happens to work for me -- it doesn't keep stuttering after I clear the mailbox. I think my best bet is to buy a cordless phone system from a local store with a good return policy.

No I am just saying that some phones don't recognize the sutter tone from the Router. There is only been one customer wear that has been the case thogh, luckily. (This is when stutter tone was working correctly also)
