ACR is nothing special. All it does is send the call right to voicemail. It does not totally block it, and it can be enabled right now by certian techs.

How about blocking a specific phone number from an abusive caller? Some jerk keeps dialing our number by mistake in the middle of the night, typically between 1am and 4am.

It's been going on since October but the only advice your phone reps have given is to change our number (no way-- had this number for nearly 20 years and we're not about to change it because of one idiot), or to turn off the ringer (can't do it, my job requires me to be on call 24x7).

No one can seem to understand why, but it has been made clear that call blocking features are not a priority at Vonage right now. Every once in a while there's a cryptic post here or at DSLR about how "certain reps" can enable a weak version of ACR but when pressed for details, the poster disappears.

The Hustle, Electric Slide, The Old Soft Shoe....... How about this one, We're too busy working on E911 because the Government is making us do it. Yeah right, and I have a bridge in Brooklyn that you can buy.

Hi,

Can you please explain whom you asked, and what magic words you may have used to get them to do this? Feel free to PM if you are more comfortable doing so.

This would be a godsend, so thanks in advance for your help.

Best,
Lewis

I will send you a pm, but also for others to know...

Remember there are reasons to be level headed etc as much as possible in the forums. You would not want a Vonage rep who could hook you up skip over your request because of some bashing posts in the past...

Feeling guilty or something? I wasn't even thinking about you there, chief.

If the ACR that they are offering is something lame like sending your friends and family that use privacy block into a lame voicemail that only works half of the time then that is not the ACR that would be useful to me. If the ACR that they are offering has a polite message that says something like "Please dial *82 to temporarily turn off your privacy block and then call back again." and works on my Moto Box, then I am sorry for being a turd about it. chief. I just hope that Vonage can get it right.
