Trying out the Vtech without the Dlink is a very good move. I should have thought of that and suggested it. Do you still get internet connectivity for a computer plugged into the Vtech in this configuration?
If you do, it's time, and probably past time, to make a call to Vonage customer support and see what they can come up with. |

So there's no way for me to change the "0" to "15" (!) |
If your DI-604 is using the 192.168.0.x subnet and your VTECH phone is using 192.168.15.x, are you using a 255.255.0.0 network mask? I would suspect that if the DI-604 will only let you change the last octect in the DMZ configuration that the netmask is 255.255.255.0.
Long story short, change the address on your VTECH to use 192.168.0.x and you should be good to go. |

The address you want to put in the D-link's DMZ is the Vtech's WAN port, which will have a 192.168.0.x address. the LAN port has 192.168.15.1, because it is actually a router doing NAT.
PPPoE is not going to work, because it is taking an address from the D-Link. The D-link router is not using PPPoE on its LAN ports, its DHCP is serving addresses.
Also, to be completely blunt, the vtech phone is a piece of junk. I have heard all kinds of horror stories just like yours, phone's won't connect to Vonage, batteries that are shipped with the unit are DOA, adding new handsets simply doesn't work...Take that *beep* back and get a PAP2, and use it with some quality cordless phones. With that connection, there should be no call quality issues, so once you get it up and running, it should be fine. |
