[align=justify] Not yet a Vonage subscriber, but was wondering if I can continue to use 2 line phones in my home -- one line Vonage and the other my local phone company? I currently have 1 personal line, 1 business line and a dedicated fax line all with local phone company (sbc). Appreciate any response...thanks |

The only problem we have seen with 2 line phones is that they can bridge line 2.
That is we saw someone who had a Vonage adapter connected to line 2 of their 2 line phone and POTS connected to their house wiring to line 1. This caused the Vonage dial tone to be available on line 2 all over the house. It is not really a problem as long as you account for it.
Many people have their houses wired with line 1 POTS and line 2 Vonage while waiting for a number transfer. |

Actually, it sounds pretty nifty. The phone is doubling as a phone and an adapter to get the Vonage line onto pair two of the the house wiring. |

Benmac, I do this now, but it's not all over the house. My 110 block in the attic limits my local telco line to my office where my 2 line phone is and to my living room for my Tivo. I use a Line1/Line2/combined splitter in the office to get Vonage thru the house (Line 1) that I connect to other drops on my 110 block. I connect my 2line phone with the combined port. For grins, I have the line2 on my splitter going to a server with fax turned on.
My 2 line phone lets me conference the 2 lines, but so does Vonage... |
