We lost control of a redirected phone number which Telus assigned to another customer unbeknownst to us. Telus gave us poor info before and again after the mess. The final excuse was CRTC rules.
The new owner has since abandoned the number and it available for uptake within the Telus system. Vonage says they cannot access the number because I do not own it anywhere. The number is effectively non-existent to Vonage
How can I retrieve that Victoria number without paying Telus to create a second land line so that I can "own" it again and pay telus +$100?
Thanks

I should further add that the number I wish to retrieve is a 250.656 which technically is a Sidney BC number inside the Greater Victoria toll free region.

Vonage can't transfer numbers in the 656 exchange. I have tried recently and they don't have access to those yet. As such, you're out of luck. |

Yah, that's what I got, though I did have a friend in Victoria who successfully transferred their 382 number from Telus. |
