Hi,
can anyone tell me how to use 802.11 friendly cordless phone with Vonage? How does the cordless phone talk to wireless router? how do you configure the phone? and how does it work with Vonage Phone adapter?
Thanks |

Cordless phone has a base unit which connects to the Line1 in the back of the ATA. That's it....nothing more to it.
The phone does not 'talk' to the router at all..... |

What I understand is that 802.11b operates at 2.4GHz, and currently, most of the cordless phone is 2.4GHz. If the phone use the same channels, than you will experience problems. Howver, there a DDS (Digital Spectrum S----) feature will be fridendly to your wireless network. So either go with 900 or 5.8G cordless phone, or 2.4G with DDS.
Hope people can add more. |

My cordless is 2.5Ghz so at first was interfering with 802.11b. I then read somewhere on some board the solution - in my router settings I changed the channel to 11 (I think) and that solved the problem - most cordless phones are on channel 5 (or something - not 11). |
