Post subject: Asterisk and Vonage
Hi!
I am new to this forum AND new to
Vonage
. We want to set up an Asterisk PBX to use with
Vonage
, without subscribing to the softphone service. I know how to set up Asterisk with
Voip
but I need to know how to set it up for
Vonage
. Is this even possible or do I have to subscribe to their softphone service? If it is possible, what protocol do they use, what server, and what is my username and secret for logging on to the server?

Use the search function at left to get past answers to this question.
Briefly you can not set up Asterisk to work directly on a main
Vonage
(not SoftPhone) line. You can take an analog line from your adapter and connect it to your Asterisk server and use it that way.

Ok thanks, I already read the ones about using a softphone
Vonage
line but I was wondering if I really needed that to use Asterisk.
Thanks.
