Answer
·  Is the Vonage Forum assocated with Vonage?

No. The Vonage-Forum is a completely independent site. This Site is exclusively owned and operated by 4Sight Media LLC. The Vonage Forum is no way endorsed, sponsored, provided, owned or otherwise controlled by Vonage.

·  What is the Vonage Forum?

The Vonage-Forum is an independent site, owned and operated by 4Sight Media LLC. It was established to provide Vonage users with an independent place to help each other to make the most of their Vonage experience.

Most of the participants in the Vonage Forum are Vonage customers who are interested in helping other customers make the most out of their Vonage experience. While a few Vonage employees do post on the forums from time to time, they are doing so on their own time, and are not acting as agents of Vonage.

·  What types of posts are discouraged at the Vonage Forum?

  • Spam or other commercial messages will be removed and the poster banned from the forum at the discretion of management.
  • Flames, personal attacks, insults, or other unfriendly postings will earn the poster a warning and the post may be edited or deleted. Repeated warnings will result in banning of the poster at the discretion of management.
  • Reviews or information on competing VoIP services are not permitted. This forum is for the discussion of the Vonage VoIP service, and may not be used to promote, discuss, or compare other telephone services.

·  I need technical help. What type of information should I post?

Your title/subject line

  • It is critical that your post have a clear and descriptive title. "Help me! Vonage Broken!" is a poor choice. "Occasional choppy audio" is better. "RTP300: Reports of choppy audio when uploading large files." is even better.
What to include in your post
  • Please describe, in detail, the issue you are experiencing (ie. choppy audio, dropped calls, unable to dial specific numbers, incoming calls not received, etc).
  • Your location (City and State are sufficient)
  • Your ISP Name and Type (Cable, DSL, Wireless, Satellite, etc)
  • Internet modem or access point make and model (ie "Linksys BEFCMU10 V2"). Be as specific as possible.
  • Type of Vonage adapter used, and Firmware version if possible (ie. "Linksys RTP300, Firmware 1.00.60"). Again, be as specific as you can.
  • Setup of your network, including any other network equipment (routers, switches, wireless bridges, etc) you may have. For example: "Modem -> RTP300 -> PC"
  • Upload and Download speed information (tested at The VoIP Speed Test site), just run the test and copy the information under "My Results" when the test is complete.
  • DETAILED test results from TestYourVoIP
    • Follow the link above.
    • Select "BOSTON" from the pulldown list and allow the test to complete.
    • Click "See Detailed Results"
    • Select ALL of the text starting at "MOS Analysis from You to BOSTON" and ending just before the "Test Again" button, copy, and paste that into your post.
Here is a helpful checklist that you may want to paste into your posting. Simply fill in the blanks:

ISSUE:
LOCATION:
ISP NAME and TYPE:
MODEM MODEL:
VONAGE ADAPTER:
NETWORK SETUP:
VoIP SPEED TEST RESULTS:
TESTYOURVOIP RESULTS:
