deanbrew: The same thing started happening to me Wednesday evening. I have a Linksys WRT54G router. If I plug my Vonage device directly into my cable modem, I get excellent service. Back in the router, and I get choppy service. So I'd suspect it's a problem with your router. Not sure what to do about it though. If you find out, let me know! :) Edit: I also tried setting the QoS to highest for the router, and can't tell that it made any difference. So probably a question for Linksys tech support.
