dbarkeep: While I am sorry you have the same issue I feel a bit better that I am not the only one experiencing it.

wehowardjr: I think sending your $$ elsewhere is the best way to send a message to a company. I am not quite ready to give up on Vonage (they are still way better than my telco) but I will look into what Comcast offers. Let me know how things go with them.

scerruti: I have 3 Windows XP machines all configured to automatically detect settings. Does the computer use the router as a DNS server by default and if so what is the process to bypass the router and use the ISP's DNS server? I don't even know what the ISP's DNS server address would be. Is there anyway to turn off caching on the Motorola router?

Lately, I have not been getting as many "Page Cannot Be Displayed" errors. They still do occur. The phone service has been great (except to Puerto Rico but my regular phone had issues calling there before too). Since the only hardware that was changed was the router between my pc and the cable modem I am more inclined to blame the router. I have worked with Motorola products for years and they have always been very reliable making me think some setting might help in the router setup. Could it have something to do with QoS settings? IPQoS is enabled but there are no rules added as far as I can tell. I like the idea of network resources being devouted to clear phone calls if that is what it is doing.

I will try to get that Ethereal and monitor DNS packets to see what is happening. The router also logs stuff (no idea if this stuff helps)....

And the DDNS client is disabled.

Still hoping to get this figured out. Thank you! - Josh
