There is a new software product for Voip Wake up calls

Wake up Easy - Voip Service
The &#8220;Wake up Easy Voip Service&#8221; is an Application that registers as extension to a Voip/IP PBX system and is working as wake up service for your customers. Is necessary service for hotels that use VOIP/IP PBX systems.

What VOIP/IP PBX system I need?
The &#8220;Wake up Easy&#8221; needs to connect as extension to VOIP/IP PBX system, so you can use any VOIP/IP PBX system that support of course the SIP protocol.

Is it working with 3CX IP Phone System?
Yes its working as a dream with the 3CX IP Phone System.

How my customers can use the wake up service?
The only thing your customer needs to do is to call from their Room the extension number that belongs to the &#8220;Wake up easy Voip Service&#8221; and to follow the instructions.

How the customers are able to cancel the wake up alarm?
Very easy, the only thing they have to do is to make a ring the service. The Wake up Service recognize the CID and automatically cancel the alarm.

In which language are the Instructions?
The messages playing in English language but you can make your own wav files in any language is necessary for you.

I need more than one language for my customers. Is it possible?
The current version of &#8220;Wake up easy Service&#8221; does not support Multilanguage functionality. The solution is to install more than one time the application with different extension number.

How many concurrently lines Support?
It depends of the license. The Wake up Easy Service is able to support unlimited concurrently phone calls.

<title>Any Rumors Yet on Call Blocking Feature?</title>

It works so far as logging goes, but in other ways it is not a complete replacement for blocking at the voip telco.

You are still hearing your phone ring until Phonetray catches it, it is not true blocking in that sense, it is still drawing your attention each call. You might turn the ringer off on your phone and have Phonetray play a ring through your computer speakers on the calls you want to recieve. I might do that.

On my setup I have to set it to two rings for the &quot;Zap&quot; feature to kick in, if I set it for one ring it will just go on ringing. There is no zero-ring selection.

And the response voice wavs that Zap feature uses are not sent to the modem under the usual default modem installation, you'd have to hook up the modem audio internally. I have yet to get into that myself but as it is they will hear nothing, just an open line. (Which might be even more annoying to them, so maybe I'll leave it.)

And this is only working so long as your computer is running. Good for 24/7 computers like mine, otherwise not so good.

This solution is so good, you shouldn't consider it an interim solution.

Newegg has a compatible modem for PhoneTray for sale right now for $10.99 with free shipping at the moment:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825130009

Pretty cheap way to get Selective Call Blocking you can easily control.

[b:a04ca23be8]PLEASE NOTE:[/b:a04ca23be8] the modem listed above only disconnects the caller. If you want to send the wav files you need to get the Hiro modem recommended in the FAQs on the Phonetray web webiste:

<blockquote>I too have been waiting for the Selective Call Blocking feature. Has anyone tried PhoneTray that uses your PC's dailup modem to do Selective Call Blocking?

http://www.phonetray.com/ptfree_features.htm

It's free but your modem needs to support callerid. If it works well this could be a good interim solution.</blockquote>

I just read this post and tried it out. It works. I have Free Phonetray in my XP tray here and it is logging the incoming numbers and Caller IDs.

This is a cheapo, unused modem I had in this machine, so if it works I'd guess most modems that aren't too old will have the CID feature. After you install the app and get your vonage line plugged into your modem line input and the modem output plugged into you phone, go into Phonetray Settings and set things up, find your &quot;ready&quot; modem, hit the Fix CID button and do what it says. Very nice, I got blocking now.

While you're waiting you can use OneSuite to receive faxes for $1 per month: http://www.onesuite.com/products_MessageOne.asp

I also use OneSuite to provide cheap international dialing with my cell phone.

Just note that with OneSuite you pre-pay (minimum of $10) which is good for six months. If all you use it for is to receive faxes it will cost you $1.67 per month.

Still pretty cheap for a dedicated fax to e-mail with a dedicated phone number. They are working on sending faxes via e-mail but don't have it set up yet.

I've had an account with them for years and highly recommend them.

If you scroll up to the top of this chain you'll see a place to vote. Thanks for the link. Do they allow you to revirginize, then move to version 2, then jailbreak again.

[quote=&quot;flodaddy&quot;]If you can tell me where to cast a vote, I definitely will ... by the way if you do decide to jailbreak, www.ziphone.org/ has a really easy and straight forward application that you load on your pc and I haven't had any problems with it, and theres alot of useful 3rd party apps that is until apple opens up the store. If you have any questions just ask.

<blockquote>Thanks flodaddy (love that). If I have to jail break, I will, but I sure would like to see Vonage use the SDK and 'officially' support it. Vonage would gain a lot of customers.

Would you cast you vote in the poll to have Vonage 'officially' support the iPhone?

If this fails, I may contact you as I quiver while I jailbreak my iPhone. I know there's revirginizing code out there, but everyone's a little afraid of bricking their phone.

<blockquote>I have successfully set up my iphone to make vonage wifi calls.
1. I had to jailbreak my Iphone in order to install 3rd party applications.
2. I installed Fring on my Iphone.
3. I got me a Vonage softphone account and installed X-PRO Vonage application on my computer. I then tested the softphone account and wrote down my SIP settings: proxy, phone number and Vonage provided password.
4. I returned to my Fring program on my Iphone and set up the SIP source with using my Vonage information: proxy, phone number and password.
I tested this by making several phone calls and it works, the call is choppy, but this could be because I am using public wifi access, in Europe, when I return to the US I will try this on a better connection.

Good luck,
Flodaddy

<blockquote>I love Vonage and don't want an ATT cell phone, BUT I want an iPhone. Vonage presently sells handsets to be used for Vonage access. Please use the new iPhone SDK to morph the iPhone into a Vonage handset.</blockquote></blockquote></blockquote>
