I've received an e-mail from somebody claiming to be <survey@survey.equationresearch.com> doing a survey on behalf of Vonage. Since there is no direct connection in the e-mail back to Vonage, I assume it is a Phishing expedition.

Does anybody know if it is legitimate or not? I'd like the $10

TIA

PS. Here's some of the e-mail...

does anyone else agree with me that it would be helpful for there to be a vonage customer service page on this site listing the possible resources? maybe this thread can be that?? i found that vonage seems to be interacting and addressing customer service issues via the Vonage twitter account recently.

i am also well aware that you can call the customer service number: or reference the vonage customer support section for technical help...

besides those does anyone else have any suggestions? or agree that it would be helpful to have a customer service page?

that is really great.. i guess any business should need an online customer service to serve people even when they are just in the computer... nice idea..

Agreed, the usage of this forum as of late is an absolute joke. Action must be taken and as this forum is run by a business it would be expected of that business to monitor such a problem.

Are there any forum moderators? This forum has become a place for spammers and it keeps getting worse. Just look at the forum entries over the past few days. It makes the site look like a joke. Please do something or people (like me) will go elsewhere for information.

Hello Sir,

May I know what is your ISP in U.S?
I think the problem is that, the ISP in the Philippines (I presumed PLDT or Globe) Could not recognized the MAC Address of your Vonage Device.

Please give me the following information in order for me to assess you properly and help you with your problem.

What is your Vonage Device?
And what is your ISP's given Model (Make and Model)

 We had been using Vonage since there early days. We then left them briefley then came back. The first time we left them there were no charges. Just recently we stopped our service with them. They told me that there would be a charge for breaking our contract, of which originally there had never been mention of a contract. Then they withdrew from my account $124.78 for a disconnect fee and the cost of the phone adapter. This is there standard procedure when you end your service. Originally we had received a reconditioned adapter from them, and there was no mention of charging for it. I offered to return it as it is in excellent condition and working fine but they will not accept returns. Another point is that this adapter connects between your cable modem and your router, All the time that we had been using it I could not get full 2 way connections from FTP sites, and Outlook Express would not down load my E-mail properly. After removing the phone adapter all these problems cleared up. I am not slandering Vonage just reporting the truth to help others make there choice. I have all this and the documentation here as proof. It is the honest truth!
