Vonage is not a cell service. It is VOIP phone. Voice Over Internet Protocol. It works just like a landline phone except it is over high speed internet. It is lower in cost, includes long distance and international long distance is included in certain plans.

Can anyone give me an update with the Vonage service in Korea? All VoIP phone use to include Vonage was banned by the Korean government a few years ago. I would like to know if I need to look for other options other than vonage once I get there.

Thanks in advance.

<blockquote>Hi guys! I need some help here with my Vonage router.

I've been given a replacement Vonage adaptor (D-Link VTA-VD), since the original one that's been sent to me was proven to be defective, and I've checked all installations and connections thoroughly but each time I pick up the phone the message I get is this: &quot;Telephone line is not provisioned for use. Please try the other line.&quot; I've double-checked all of them and tried to replace all cables and transfered the connections to the other ports on my modem and routers but I still get the same message. Anybody out there who knows to to solve this? Please let me know how ASAP Thanks!</blockquote>

The new adapter probably needs to be activated to be part of your line.. you can either do it by calling vonage support or through the website..

for the website - 1] goto addons -&amp;gt; your phone adapter to add the adapter to your account if it is not part of your account already

2] then goto account -&amp;gt; adapter management -&amp;gt; move a line to put your line on the new ATA. you can start on this screen first to see if you need to do step one or not (i.e. if it is already associated with your account but the line is not on it)

<title>D-LINK DGL-4500 Firmware Problems - Get it fixed now!</title>
<link>http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic24745.html</link>
<guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic24745.html#131538</guid>

Just wanted to pass this on to people here.

If you are an owner of a D-link product with hardware/firmware problems that are still unresolved despite all your efforts to have them resolve them or if you have recently upgraded your firmware only to have your router become useless or not perform as advertised. Immediately follow the instructions below and wait for more details on a website that is being developed now to assist you with these problems.

In the meantime...you need to do the following immediately.

1). File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org (this will get an immediate response from Dlink and replacement of your router - at least for now)

2). File a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs at http://www.dca.ca.gov/online_services/complaints/consumer_complaint.shtml

3). File a complaint with YOUR state's consumer affairs.

4.) File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

5.) File a complaint with Rippoffreport.com at http://www.ripoffreport.com/login.asp

You may use the complaint text for each one (that way it saves you loads of time). Also save your paperwork and all emails, conversations, phone records...everything! Do NOT dispose of, sell, trade or otherwise let the hardware go as this may become valuable evidence for authorities.

Your warranty status does NOT matter. Facts are if the firmware update that D-Link provided caused the damage they are liable to fix and/or repair the damage in a reasonable period of time.
More on the self help website will be announced shortly. In the meantime you need to immediately file the complaints above and SAVE EVERYTHING!

More announcements will be posted shortly with information on a self-help website designed to assist all D-Link product owners who have been affected by D-Link's faulty product updates.

Also beware!! D-link is banning anyone critical of D-link in their forums or anyone who tries to pin them down. You probably wanna check out the following two threads as well.

http://www.ispgeeks.com/wild/modules.php?name=Forums&amp;amp;file=viewtopic&amp;amp;t=2888&amp;amp;highlight=dlink

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22572439-DLink-Banning-Users-and-Deleting-Posts-Critical-Of-DLink

Good luck!

<title>Anyone else have troubles w/ COX cable???</title>

Here in Phoenix AZ, Cox is just as bad. I used to get basic cable tv free with my internet connection. But since the digital TV switch happened, they wanted an extra $40/month after fees for basic cable. And reliability has been less then perfect, Be trying to do something on the internet or even watch TV (When I still had it) and it will just cut out. You call up tech support about it, they have you go through a long list of checking this and resetting that. Been through it so many times I have it memorized. And after that, they say &quot;Looks like a problem in your area. We will have to schedule a technician to look at it.&quot; And if you don't have the insurance on your wiring, expect a $65 charge tacked onto your next bill for the tech to show up and find that someone disconnected the cable to your home inside their box at the street.
