Whatever the cause, there is rampant speculation going on. The average number of VG shares traded per day used to average well under 1M. On Friday, 81M shares changed hands.

Not quite sure that's a fair statement. Check out http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2009/08/25/vonage-rockets-to-165-one-day-gain-up-4x-in-6-days/?mod=yahoobarrons

The blogs think it has to do with the unlimited calling to the 60 different countries.

400% gain on no news announcement from VG and no recent earnings release reeks of insider trading to me. If they are being acquired, expect to see some people going to jail for the activity this week.

Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG - message board) is in talks with Sprint Nextel Corp. (NYSE: S - message board) about a way to resolve that carrier's patent lawsuit against the VOIP provider, Light Reading has learned. And one source says a Sprint buyout of Vonage is on the table.

Vonage addressed its Sprint lawsuit last Thursday in an investor conference call. That call was intended to focus on Vonage's more publicized patent fight with Verizon.

During that call, Vonage's Chief Legal Officer Sharon O'Leary said: "I feel very strongly we'll be able to enter into a business arrangement or agreement to resolve that matter," when addressing a question about Sprint's patent lawsuit, which is set to go to trial in September. Our sources confirm Sprint and Vonage have been in talks about the patent issue, and one source says Vonage is considering selling itself to Sprint.

I don't know why anyone listens to all these idiots. If you do not know buy now there are no EXPERTS out there. Everyone is just working ther own hussle. I wonder if this idiot pridicted his own downfall with Citi. Of course not he got up and straight faced lied to the world that Citi was doing great whne in facte they were falling on most counts.
Vonage is one of the best VOIP providers out there and for .37 or .40 a share I think it is to anyones advantge to buy 10,000 shares and hold on till it gets to 1.40. The stock has been pulled down with the rest of the worlds stocks. Their outlook as far as revnues has beaten the street estimates 6 of 9 last quarters. I have been making money on the bear market for 2 months now and there are many bargins but you must buy low when the stock plunges a bit and sell to make 500 or 1000 when it is up. These up and down swings with the banks are happening every week. Do not hold any, I have bougth and sold many bank stocks over and over in the last 2 months... but do hold Vonage VG I see it going to over 1.50 this year.

As of right now... seems like it is keeping its head up around the .38 mark. Even if the stock tanks out, that doesn't necessarily mean the company will go under completely. Look at Sirius XM, Liberty dumped $530 million into them to keep them afloat. I would hate to have to search for another provider that is as reliable and cheap as vonage.

Vonage lost a net 14,700 subscribers in the last quarter. Rumor is next quarter (if there is one) will be dramatically worse.
