<title>1981 House NO NID with unique wiring...Which to disconnect?</title>

Ok......studied the wires up closely and can tell from the line coming in from outside that the main nut it connects to when 1st entering is probably the GROUND.

It seems from the wires coming out of the main black cable to be CAT 5.

Only 2 sets of wires from the Black outside cable are connected - A) A set with Brown / Brown Striped (Brown &amp;amp; White) and B) Gray / White

These 2 sets are connected to the same posts as a set of Red / Green (For the Gray / White) + a set of Black / Yellow (For the Brown / Brown Striped) that go through to the punch block to the jacks in the house.

Should I just disconnect the wires that lead to the Main Outside cable and leave the wires leading to the punch block (R+G &amp;amp; B&amp;amp;Y) still connected or should I just remove them all??

Looking to hook my Vonage line to my entire house phone jacks.

A little background.....there were 2 phone #s for the house and each Phone line had its own dedicated phone jacks in each room (2 Phone jacks per room).

No NID on the outside of the house so traced where the underground phone and cable lines entered the house.....

Two pictures below of the wiring where the phone blocks connect to the outside line:

So which do I disconnect? and which do I leave in??
The 1st pic is the whole telephone block and the 2nd is the closeup:

I have the following network config:
Cable Modem -&amp;gt; Motorola VT2442 (for Vonage) ... off port 1 of the VT2442 I have a straight drop into another room. I plug the port 1 drop into a 5 port switch in the other room. Off the 5 port switch I have a LinkSYS E2000 combination (wired/wireless) router. The VT2442 has an IP of 192.168.16.1. The LinkSYS E2000 will inheirit a 192.168.16.* from the VT2442, but, the wireless part will somehow always want to be an address of 192.168.1.* for anything that connects to it (e.g. my IPAD2). What I'm trying to accomplish: the other room has a Tivo Premere XL, so my workstation that contains movies and photos needs to be in the same network as the Tivo. The workstation is off the VT2442, Tivo is off the switch in the other room. That makes the workstation and Tivo work and play well together (both have a 192.168.16.* address) however, when I try to connect to the Tivo with the IPAD app (with the wireless portion of the router set to 192.168.1.1) then the IPAD app doesn't find the TIVO. If I change the wireless portion of the LinkSYS E2000 to an unused 192.168.16.* address then the IPAD doesn't talk to the router at all. I'm thinking there is a simple solution, but I've tried a view tricks and so far failed miserably.

<title>Moving Vonage adapter far from router?</title>

DallasFlier, thanks for your advice and for sharing your experience. Since my last post, I've found that my problem really does seem to be with the phone, so your solution might just work for me.

Tech support at AT&amp;amp;T (or whoever has the license to build phones under their name -- it might be Vtech) told me that I might be getting interference from the other DECT 6 phone in my house (it's connected to the other phone line), so I might also see an improvement if I switch that phone to a different type.

<blockquote>I'd like to avoid moving the router or doing anything else that would require new wiring. I'm wondering whether I could move the Vonage adapter to the basement and link it to the router (two floors above) using a wireless ethernet bridge, a wifi range extender or powerline networking. This would let me move the telephone base unit to the basement, which I hope will fix my problem.</blockquote>

I have a similar situation, with my cable modem&amp;amp; router far from where I want much of my connectivity. I purchased Netgear powerline networking devices via eBay and everything works well - not only Vonage adapters, but even 1080p HD video streaming via my PS3. There are 3 different generations of powerline networkiing devices. Mine are the middle tier, with 85 Mb/sec specs. I have one device plugged into the router, and two others at different locations in the house. Those two have built in 4-port switches, making them even nicer.

I'd stay away from wireless solutions, I think you'll find that will result in less than 100% reliable results.

<title>Can receive calls but can't make calls - wiring problem?</title>

My phone works fine if connected directly to my VDV21-VD Vonage adapter. I am attempting to use house wiring to connect multiple phones. If I plug the cable from the adapter into a wall jack and plug phones to other wall outlets, I cannot make any outgoing calls anymore, not even to Vonage voice mail. I can receive incoming calls.

There is currently no incoming phone line. The Network Interface Device has two modular jacks with pigtails plugged in. I have opened the wall plate and see that pins 3 &amp;amp; 4 of the jack are shorted with a small wire length.

Ideas for troubleshooting will be appreciated.

The phone is fairly recent -- it is a DECT 6 model and has generally performed well. I think I'll do some more testing to see if I can reproduce the problem by setting up a call between my Vonage line and my other (Verizon) landline. Maybe the problem is in my Vonage adapter or the FiOS unit.

Hi,
Currently I am using &quot; My Sales Dialer&quot; for my 22 seats call center. for each person I bought &quot; My Sales Dialer&quot; for $10 &amp;amp; I have unlimited data+text plan from T-mobile for $49.99, so there is nothing extra I am paying to get my work done.
Now I come to know about vonage. Is it possible to connect vonage with My Sales Dialer?
&amp;amp; which plan will be suitable for me?
