Strange problem  Break it down. Find the closest wall jack test it for dial tone.then move on away from the phone adapter.
I don't know why the wiring would fail at all jacks.

First and formemost, a very belated but BIG thank you.
everything worked as you guys explained to me. I hooked the wires as you suggested and viola I had dial tone through all but one jack.
