I tried it, too! Got a message about ACR being on this line.

Mine shows unknown, wireless caller or out of area as the name, with my phone number. I have heard that it sometimes shows my name with the number. I changes. I don't really care either way.

Why is it that when i call someone, all that shows up on THEIR caller ID is "Vonage Service" or something like that? ...

Yes, you CAN record your calls using the Radio Shack device. That is where I purchased my phone recording equipment.
The results are the same as recording calls on copper.
