I have been static-free for two weeks now since receiving the new RTP300 from Vonage. So for me at least, it was the hardware itself that was the issue rather than firmware, heat, etc.
Just wanted to provide an update on my "static" issue... I received the replacement RTP300 from Vonage (for free after much ****). Plugged it in and Voila - static gone.
Well, a firmware "update" got pushed down the wire to me from Vonage. I am not sure if this was the roll-back or some enhancement, however the static is still there.
