Coming back to this a bit late, but I thought I'd jsut round it off with what I got working.
In the end I just gave up with the D-Link DSL300T boxe and got some D-Link DSL504T routers instead.

The obvious answer is that the D-Link is just a modem, and the Linksys is just a router, so the Linksys isn't going to work without the D-Link.....
And I can't get the Internet or anything through ... |
