Today's Vonage news is a little light, so we will move on to the Forum where a member raises a discussion on if anyone else has been down for incoming calls. Finally there is the Vonage Stock Price update.



In The Vonage Voip Forum

GATCOTX, a Vonage Forum Associate started a new thread titled," Any one else down for incoming calls?"

GATCOTX puts forth his problem as," Known problems started at 4 pm CST. I always leave simul ring on and calls were forwarding to me cell without ringing on my Vonage line and then a second CID would show the same call coming in at the same time."

He continued with the thread," Now (530 pm CST) inbound only gets reorders (fast busy) or rings with no answer and simul ring is not working. Vonage dashboard shows no service issues. I am in 817 (ft worth, Texas), on Verizon FIOS. My speed test shows all good (728 down and 1.89 up with 0% loss)"

Missasue, a New Forum member joined in," I have a similar problem, told Vonage yesterday, still no response, did they fix it for you? Maybe someone here has heard about these 2 issues Issue #1, people do not know my Voip # they only know my regular home # that they have used for the last 5 years so I forward that # to my VoIP. Occasionally I will notice my phones have not rang in a while, so I pick up my cell and call my house phone, it rings once and then instantly goes to a traditional busy signal (as it tries to forward to the voip) and this happens off and on, I will try it and it will work, I will try it a few hours later and it wont. The entire time I am staring at my Voip and it definitely isn't being used so there is no reason for a busy signal. This happened with my old Voip (via talk) and I switched to Vonage thinking they would have better results....... I can't have the phone ringing busy on a business phone either...."

He continued," Issue # 2 One out of every 8 times I call my Vonage line direct from another phone it has a fast busy ring for about 4 seconds and they screams an ear piercing screech and says call failed on my cell. Any ideas there? Thanks to ANYONE who responds!"

Kumakuma, a Vonage Forum associate joined in by getting a solution for issue #1," when porting a number make sure that you don't disconnect your service from your previous phone carrier, until the transfer is finished. If you disconnect it the transfer will not be complete. All you have to do is reactivate your account, which is costly. But if not you can let your Voip assign you a new number"

Fedexgnd, a new Forum member, added in," I have experienced problems the last 2 days. I have it set to forward to my cell phone if power or internet is down. The last two days it has intermittently done this. Someone tried to call my home (vonage) number, no ringing then my cell phone voicemail comes up. Rebooted all devices and happened again this AM."

Loadstar joined in," I'm actually on the line with Vonage right now about this issue. Of course, they want to test it, and the calls THEY make are going through to my Vonage line as they should. However, of the 4 calls that I've received this afternoon, 3 have gone through to my Network Availability Number. I've got a case number for the problem, but without being able to reproduce the problem for them, that don't do a whole lot."

Loadstar points out further," Interesting. Before I called Vonage, I had Anonymous Call Rejection turned on. To do their tests, they had me turn it off, because they were coming through without Caller ID. I left it off after getting off the phone with them, and the 5 calls I made to my Vonage line from another phone worked fine. I turned ACR back on, and the first call I made after turning it on went straight through to my network availability number. Try turning off ACR if you have it on and see what happens."

Fedexgnd added," Thanks Loadstar, I believe that was it. I just turned off ACR (didn't even know that I had it and it was on) I rebooted all devices and now all calls come thru."

Loadstar replied," Hrm. I don't think it's as simple as it seemed. I just got a call that went straight through to my Network Availability Number. I checked and ACR is still turned off. This is really starting to frustrate me, especially since my cell phone that I use as my network availability number is supposed to be work-related calls only."

Kumakuma replied," Well call forwarding works if your device is on and network availability works even though your device is off or you don't have internet connection...I suggest you enable your network availability also."

Loadstar concluded the thread," The problem that (at least) I'm dealing with: the Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) is on and has a solid LED indicator on it, indicating that it has an active and working internet connection. I can pick up a handset attached to the device and I get a dial tone. I can even make calls on it without a problem. However, most incoming calls are being sent to my Network Availability Number instead of ringing on my Vonage line. This has nothing to do with Call Forwarding, and as you can see, Network Availability is enabled."

On Friday at the New York Stock Exchange, Vonage stock closed at $3.14a share, a rise of +8.28% from Thursday's which was$2.90a share. The total volume of Vonage shares traded was 2,733,500 .
