Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage VoIP Forum Digest.

Today in the news we shall read about the appointment of Vonage's Chief Marketing Officer and would then go to the forum where a member queries on the phone lines that are either busy or irregular. Then scroll down to go through the Vonage Stock update.

In The News

Jamie Haenggi named Vonage Marketing Chief

Vonage has appointed its Chief Marketing Officer on Tuesday. Jamie Haenggi will now look after the marketing responsibilities of Vonage. In the newly created position, Haenggi requires to spearhead the duties with a more unified marketing approach at Vonage. The company has already made a marketing strategy, which would raise the competitive standards of Vonage in the market.

Speaking on the appointment, Jeffrey A. Citron, the Chairman, Chief Strategist and Interim CEO of Vonage stated, "We're thrilled that Jamie has agreed to take on this new and challenging role in our organization."

Former Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at the ADT Security Services, Jamie Haenggi joined Vonage in November 2006 as the Vice President of Customer Life. Earlier, she also served as the head of marketing and acquisition Integration at Holmes Production. Jamie Haenggi has been the Director of National Guardian's International Division, where she had to deal with the contract negotiations and the sales and marketing duties. As a Director, she also looked after the overseas marketing distribution, especially in the South East Asian region, as well as the sales and technical installation and training.

Being the Chief Marketing Officer at Vonage, Jamie Haenggi will now look after the Retail Sales, as well the Corporate Communications of Vonage, besides its Marketing. A graduate from the University of Minnesota, with majors in International Relations and Japanese, Jamie Haenggi has remained attached with the analysis of the company's media strategy and introduction of new messaging in online and televised marketing vehicles.

In The Vonage VoIP Forum

VoipuserNV started a new thread titled, 'Lines Temporarily Busy Intermittent'

He explained in detail the problem that he is facing, "I am in Las Vegas, Nevada, and am with Cox Communications cable internet. I am not sure how to tell what Vonage adapter I'm using. I am experiencing the recorded message "Lines are temporarily busy" intermittently when calling long distance. This message has been heard when calling more than 7 different numbers (it's my business line) and has been going on since I set up the service with Vonage last month. The numbers being called are in different states, and I get the message at different times of the day. Occasionally I have called a number back on another day and have gotten through."

He continued saying, "In addition, there have been several instances where I call a number and it rings as normal, only to hear the "lines are temporarily busy" after about 5 rings.

Any insight is appreciated.

(Below are the results from the VOIP test.)

Noct the Vonage Forum Master replied immediately saying, "This sounds like either 2 things: Your internet connection is temporarily interrupted, causing connectivity issues or, most likely, A call routing issue. You'll have to call technical support. Make sure they get a diagnostic log sample or they won't fix it for a few days."

MikeOBOR is facing the same problem, he said, "same here in Portland, OR (503 acreacode). Calling Washington (425 AC) constantly receive the lines temporarily busy…"

Idealprag from Toronto said, "I've had a really bad vonage day here too (Toronto) dropped calls, one way audio, "lines are temporarily busy" . . . . the works. It has been tough to complete a call without a problem."

Spacezero said, "I got the "lines are... busy" message today when I tried to call out, so I then called my Vonage softphone number from my friends cell phone and the call went through. I also have not been able to call 1-800 or 1-866 numbers. Should I call tech support every time this occur."

Roscopco tried to provide some information saying, "About the 1-800 and 1-866 depeneds where you live. Not all toll free numbers work in Canada since these numbers are for Canada only and Vonage lines are going through the states. If you are in Canada then call Vonage and they usually can find a non toll free number."

Spacezero said, "I am in the US. I am still unable to call out and I cannot call customer service, I get a '...reached this message in error hangup...'."
