Vonage VoIP Forum Digest

April 5, 2007

By Daniel Connor

Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage Voip Forum Digest.

In the news today we will come to know why Vonage will not bring out the annual report immediately and then go straight to the Forum were another new member is having some problem with the router. We shall conclude with the Vonage stock market update.

In The News

Vonage delays annual report till Friday judgment

Vonage Holding Corporation has decided not to post the Annual Report of the company on account of the Verizon patent lawsuit case. Vonage will be declaring the company’s financial position only after Friday when the judge is expected to come up with a decision regarding the stay on the injunction. A positive decision from the judge is highly expected by Vonage Executives.

On The Vonage Voip Forum

A new forum member, alroy, is suffering from a very common problem, which he puts up on a new thread titled, ‘Router dummy with WRTP54G need assistance’. The other members, however, had tried to help the new member with their best suggestions.

Alroy has stated, “I just bought the WRTP54G router. Everything works EXCEPT my phone lines. I already had a previous Vonage account that worked. I've searched and read some of the threads dealing with this router and it's obvious there have been problems. Can someone please help this noob (I'm not wireless router literate at all) get things up and running? I've tried unplugged all lines and have gone through all of that with no success. If anyone can give me a step by step SIMPLE instruction of how to get this going, or point me to the correct thread, I would greatly appreciate it. If something doesn't work soon I'm just going to cancel my Vonage account and just stick with my cell phone.”

Xcrunxc was the first person to reply this thread. He said, “Well, to start, did you register your new router to your account? If you did not, go here http://vonage.com/retail_subscribe/ and follow the steps to add your device to your account. Without doing this, the phone lines will never come up and it will only function as a router.” NateHoy, who has already completed 1969 posts on this forum, is always active in responding to queries from the forum members.

Regarding the upgradation of the firmware he said, “Once you have that sorted, check out the firmware version number on the upper right corner of the login screen. It should read 1.00.62 - if it reads anything older than that, you may need to "nudge" it into upgrading the firmware. http://vonage.nmhoy.net/upgrade.html.” He added, “Step 1 in the page above is usually sufficient to get the firmware upgraded, but the rest of the steps are there just in case.” Flattop, another new member, also had something to suggest.

He said, “I had a similar problem when I purchased the WRTP54G. With a lot of patience and a level 2 technicians at Vonage, it took about 30 minutes to get my phone lines up and working. In fact, I just recently switched my router to the Motorola VT2542 that I purchased directly from Vonage.” He went on adding, “It was registered with Vonage and I had the same problem with the phone lines not working. Again, I called Vonage and it took the technician about 30 minutes to get my phone lines working. The technician had me resetting and resetting and resetting. It took resetting, going to the 192.168.15.1, and adjustments from Vonage to get my lines working.”

Vonage Stock Report

At the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, the Vonage stock closed at $3.62 a share, which is a dip of 0.05 cents from Tuesday’s closing price, which was $3.67 per share. The day’s lowest price was $3.46 a share. The total number of Vonage share traded on Wednesday was 1,147,200.
