Vonage Selects Cyclades Infrastructure Solution to Support Rapid Growth over IP

Vonage Press ReleasesCyclades AlterPath(TM) System Extends Capacity, Increases Efficiency and Speeds Time to Recovery for Vonage's Voip Data Centers

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2005--Cyclades Corporation, the leader in next-generation IT infrastructure management, today announced that Vonage® Network, a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp., a leading provider of residential broadband phone service in North America, has selected components of Cyclades AlterPath(TM) System of out-of-band infrastructure (OOBI) products to support its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. By enabling remote management of its critical network and IT devices, Cyclades solution helps Vonage reduce costs associated with running geographically dispersed data centers and improve asset recovery time in the event of an outage.

"Cyclades out-of-band infrastructure solution has simplified the process of restoring IT and network assets enormously, allowing Vonage to reduce the time to return a server to service from hours to minutes and reducing costs in the process," said Michael Tribolet, executive vice president of Vonage Network. "By improving efficiency as well as extending capacity with the AlterPath System, Vonage is able to continue to provide its customers with an efficient, full-featured and cost-effective broadband telephone service."

Inefficiencies threatened to increase costs and impact Vonage's high standard of service. Vonage chose Cyclades OOBI solution to provide remote access, fast diagnosis and troubleshooting, and restoration capabilities to over 1,000 network and IT devices across an environment comprising many vendor technologies.

Cyclades AlterPath OOBI products enable remote management of IT assets through secure alternate paths into the production infrastructure to access, diagnose and restore disconnected IT assets. Based on open source, AlterPath products meets Vonage's critical requirement for seamless integration within its heterogeneous network. Vonage deployed the AlterPath ACS advanced console servers with the AlterPath PM power management appliances to provide secure OOBI access between its main headquarters and its worldwide remote data centers.

"The AlterPath System is comprised of scalable and reliable out-of-band infrastructure components that enable secure, remote management of IT devices, helping our customers reduce operational costs and risks while improving IT asset and personnel productivity," said Daniel Dalarossa, CEO and co-founder of Cyclades. "Pioneering service providers like Vonage are able to use our solution to support their business objectives -- especially through explosive growth cycles -- while continuing to provide uncompromised service to their customers."

About the Out-of-Band Infrastructure (OOBI)

The Out-of-Band Infrastructure (OOBI) provides secure alternate paths into the production infrastructure so that disconnected assets can be reconnected and subsequently returned to normal operation. This infrastructure includes serial console servers, KVM analog and KVM over IP switches, intelligent power distribution units, service processor managers, and blade managers, all controlled by an OOBI manager like Cyclades AlterPath Manager.

About Cyclades

Cyclades, the leader in next-generation IT infrastructure management, offers a comprehensive system of products that reduce IT operational costs and risks, while increasing the productivity of IT assets and personnel. Cyclades AlterPath System provides secure alternate paths into the production IT infrastructure, enabling administrators to remotely access, diagnose and restore disconnected assets to normal operation. Designed to seamlessly integrate and deploy into the enterprise, Cyclades AlterPath solutions include console servers, KVM and KVM over IP switches, power control appliances, service processor managers, blade managers and a manager to control the entire out-of-band infrastructure. More than 8,000 organizations, including 85 percent of the FORTUNE 100, depend on Cyclades products.
