Welcome to today's edition of the Vonage Voip Forum Digest.

Today, we'll give you a sneak peek-at-a-sneak-peek about how those Vonage ads that you see everywhere are going to change in the near future. We'll also look at how Vonage is fast upgrading their communications infrastructure in Scotland to provide almost 100 percent coverage in that nation by the end of this year. As most of you know, Scotland is a key part of the United Kingdom, a nation for which we are proud to offer our Vonage UK Forum. Today, we'll spotlight how one UK-based Vonage customer addressed their dial-in issues. We'll also see which features Vonage UK Forum members wish that Vonage would offer - but is not as of yet.

Vonage On the Lookout for Models

No, not the kind you see in fashion magazines, those whom-shall we say-place a premium on their attractiveness by avoiding too many fattening foods.

We're talking about those models and commercial actors who, Vonage says in a proposal to the ad agency community revealed on the advertising agency news site this week, could serve as role models for potential Vonage customers. According to the proposals, these customers would be targeted by commercials spotlighting Vonage service as (a) "lifestyle tool(s)."

In short, believable characters doing believable things with Vonage. While such an ad campaign sounds credible to us, our guess is that you are already believable, and are using Vonage to do believable things. We know this because, of course, we read all your posts!!

Great Scot! Vonage Striving for 100% Scotland Coverage

Saturday's The Scotsman newspaper notes that Vonage expects to reach virtually 100 percent coverage of Scotland by the end of this year.

It's currently at 97 percent, which doesn't mean it has all that far to go.

Because that 97 percent figure covers households and not area, full national coverage is a bit farther off from a geographic standpoint. Vonage service is available in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and four other major heavily urban regions. Yet Vonage will add many more Scottish area codes - a good number in remote areas of Scotland by the turn of the year.

Today, we'd like to introduce you to our Vonage UK Forum. If you are a UK-based Vonage subscriber, you'll find lots of threads with questions and answers of direct relevance to you. Even if you are not based in the UK, we think you'll see that the questions, concerns and preferences expressed by our Vonage UK Forum Members are not all that different than the ones you talk about on our Forum.

In the UK Wish List thread, we're asking Vonage UK Forum members to vote on which services they would like to see Vonage offer in the United Kingdom. The leading vote-getter to date (35%) is "Inclusive mobile call tariff." (The term "tariff" is equivalent to what North Americans would call "rate"). This would mean that Vonage UK users would like a flat, all-you-can-use rate for mobile calls using Vonage. An additional 15% of voters prefer an "Inclusive international call tariff" as well. Anonymous call rejection is in second place, with 25%. As implied by the name, such technology would let Vonage users program their lines to reject calls from those companies or individuals who block Caller I.D.

Also on the Vonage UK Forum, Vonage UK Forum member Bee_Jay started a thread earlier this month called One person cannot dial in. He said that although most callers were able to reach his Vonage line, one person with a line from BT (British Telecom) was unable to. Fellow UK Forum Members ThePotato and Gordy0141 suggested that Bee_Jay call Vonage customer support and enlist their help in solving the problem. Then, on Friday afternoon, Bee_Jay posted an update saying that although the issue took three to four days to resolve, "it is now fixed." Without providing further details, Bee_Jay said the issue was found to be "mainly BT's fault" but that Vonage's service was "excellent."
