Adjusting volume within TOS: Phone call.

Adjusting volume outside of TOS: Surf hacking sites for hours on end, finding the "secret squirrel" passwords. Get into the box knowing anything you screw up will cost you your account, and you run the risk of frying the gear.

Losing service because you wanted to adjust the volume yourself: Priceless.

The hacker version of Voip is free. To keep everything simple, there's Vonage. Vonage, it's everywhere you want to call. :)


(of course, for the record, I'd love to see a "volume slider" on the RTP300/WRTP54G. They ARE too loud, and mine seems to get reset at each firmware upgrade. But I'd rather keep my Vonage account and be able to save money, and make the occasional call to talk to Venkatesh "Call me Adam" and his friends to get the volume adjusted).
