Vonage You are rigtht of course, and I just needed someone to speak up and say the information

You are rigtht of course, and I just needed someone to speak up and say the information was needed and wanted. I'm a little gun shy having come from another forum where some mentally-ill types were allowed to run away with the place, at least somewhat. When you have a Linksys router following another gateway like the Actiontec you need to disable the DHCP on the Linksys and if the default IP address of the Linksys is the same as the Actiontec's (192.168.1.1) then you change the Linksys' to either 192.168.1.2 for same LAN IP segment or 192.168.2.1 for different LAN IP segment. At least that is what they told me at Linksys tech support (see the following link:) http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3733&lid=3726837401B01 I tried both methods and the first seemed to do the trick better, even if it meant you had to burn an Ethernet port on the Linksys instead of using the WAN in jack. I ended up not needing the extra Ethernet ports on the Linksys and so don't have the system running, ergo the vagueness here. Then too, my Linksys is just a vanilla cable/dsl router, not a Vonage device, so mblanco may have different needs hook-up wise. Even with this knowledge mblanco still had to contact Vonage C/S to find out how to configure the Port Forwarding on the Actiontec to accommodate this particular device. I'll leave it up to him to explain the fine points about all he had to do. Arthur

Router Chose w/ Fios

I got Verizon's Fios a few months ago. Now I need to get my vonage working again.
Your router/modem combo from Verizon should have four ethernet ports on the back
The coax port on your Actiontec gateway/router is used if you have FIOS cable TV.
Thank you arther, I understand what you are saying. The coax port is only for the
You lost me here. I'm not sure why you are even using the Linksys, unless
Sorry I did not mean to confuse you. When I was using Charter I used this Linksys
It sounds like you are on the right path now. So your Linksys is a router/pone device
I'm not a moderator of this forum but I would like to point out that by taking a problem
try turning off the firewall on your actiontec modem/router and then press the
