Yeah... I guess it is possible, and also not possible.

I called them, and they gladly added my MAC from the VTech.

I called again and got a really together guy who got both devices sort of working. The end result is that I am going to use my VTech primarily and the RTP300 as a backup in case of problems.

But here's why the VTech wouldn't work:
The voicemail timeout setting on Vonage's dashboard was causing a problem. The default value of 30 does not work. It causes the VTech to get a constant amber light (i.e. not green and ready to go).

Changing it to 50 seconds, it worked. Then changing it to 15 seconds it worked, but 30 always caused a problem.

The tech was pretty happy about it, as was I.

Until I tried to use both devices. They both get independent dial tones. They both synchronize with the voicemail status indepdently. So if you clear the voicemail using the VTech, the RTP300 has no idea.

Also, we discovered that both devices switched off fielding calls. Call once, the VTech rings. Call again, the RTP300 rings.

Also, if you answer a call on the VTech, then try to make an outgoing phone call on the RTP300, you get an error tone (the "doo-dee-doo-dee-doo-dee" that's really fast, but usually followed by an error message from the telco).

So, to fix all this, I unplugged the RTP300 and shelved it for later.

Keep in mind while reading this that the VTech never worked until we changed the voicemail setting. No amount of IP changing, rebooting, reflashing, reconfiguring, recabling etc. would get me a green light on the box. Even without the RTP300 (or any other network gear aside from the VTech) present.

So the tech fixed one problem, and now I have 2 MAC's on my account. I am going to get another Vonage line at another place of residence, so maybe I will try to take this RTP300 and register it for that line. I hate to have extra equipment around.

So, 2 devices do not technically work. Vonage thinks they are 2 independent dial tones (both report the same outgoing number).

TTFN

Hi there, I have a new Vonage account and I bought a VTech 8100 cordless phone(s)

Thanks for the report. It certainly would be nice if they allowed multiple devices
Hmmm... it might be possible to two devices if only one is powered on at a time. So
This thread actually contradicts what I have been hearing from Vonage Help reps:
[font=Comic Sans MS:581e15be53] No, it doesn't contradict what you heard.
I have three vonage lines. One number uses the Linsky3000 adapter. One has a VTech.
