Wow, there is a lot of misinformation and speculation in this thread. Steve nailed it with his first reply, this is a voicemail notification. If you look in the VT2442 user manual that came with the device it will say "Blinking Orange - You have Voicemail" this is right on page 3. Up until this point it had been incorrectly blinking green for new voicemail, the new firmware fixed this issue. Marxus, the PSTN voltage check failed will make the phone line light have a solid orange light, not blinking. Motorola and Vonage refer to these lights that are clearly red as orange for some reason, but I can 100% assure you this is the correct answer.
