Wow. This is basically MCI's claim that AT&T won't give them equal access from the 60's and 70's. Now SBC is in the AT&T shoes. This guy has some nerve. Way back AT&T maintained all long lines and local service. So one could see the merit of the claim of creamskinning off AT&T's operating costs by coming in with low long distance prices. Since there is no longer a national system under one name, how can Whitacre make this claim?
