While I'm (very) far from a Vonage fangirl your response is written without any inside knowledge at all. The VAST MAJORITY of ports go through just fine. Some are quick (best I've read so far is 10 calendar days) and some take time. Some get screwed up and take forever and a day. In any business growing faster then it ever expected and dealing with hundreds of thousands of people there will always be those who are having problems and some have problems worse then others. Obviously the hundreds of thousands of satisifed customers aren't going to take the time to post and say "everything went great" although a few actually do (read some of the messages). For the most part (and it's great they do) people come to boards like this to vent their problems. Of course one only hears one side of the issue and doesn't see or read exactly why some of the horror stories occur and you also don't hear from the "silent majority" who are happier then pigs in sh1t. :) Remember that what you read here is from the tiniest minority of the users of the 650,000+ lines currently in operation and in no way represents a scientific sample of all Vonage users.

As for the responses you get from Vonage, take then for what they're worth and who writes, I mean cuts and pastes, them.

And again, you do have the option of cancelling your service and going back to where everything worked to your satisfaction. There are no contracts or ETF's like cell companies do in order to force you to stay with them for 1 or 2 years.

If you think Vonage is delaying the ports intentionally to avoid paying the clecs, with all due respect, that's totally absurd.
